Spinach dip photo by sabine01
Spinach dip is a favorite party food of mine. I’ve experimented with lots of different spinach dip recipes, and this is the very best one I’ve come up with. You can serve this in a dish or in any type of round bread loaf. It’s really good in Hawaiian bread because the sweetness of the bread is a good combination with the savory flavor of the dip. For me, the Knorr soup mix and the sweet red bell pepper make the dip special. If you substitute another brand of soup mix, the results won’t be nearly as good!
Holle’s Awesome Spinach Dip
What you’ll need:
- 1 box frozen chopped spinach
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 ½ cups mayonnaise
- 2/3 cup finely diced red bell pepper
- ½ cup chopped green onions
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 envelopes Knorr’s spring vegetable dry soup mix
- 1 cup finely diced water chestnuts
- ½ cup crumbled cook bacon
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Directions: Thaw spinach completely and cut a small slit in one corner of the box. Holding the box over the sink, squeeze all the liquid out. Open box and place spinach in a mixing bowl and separate with a fork.
Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Refrigerate for several hours before serving.
