Recipe for baking a whole chicken
We have this whole baked chicken quite often, especially when chickens go on sale. It’s like having a mini turkey, so I like to serve mine with dressing, sweet potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce. It’s almost like Thanksgiving!
Holle’s Baked Sunday Chicken recipe
What you’ll need:
- 3 – 3 ½ pound whole chicken
- Lemon juice
- Worcestershire sauce
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Dried rosemary, ground
- Dried thyme, ground
Directions: Rinse chicken and pat dry. Sprinkle chicken, including cavity, with salt.
Rub soft butter over chicken. Brush with Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. Sprinkle with pepper, garlic powder, rosemary, thyme, and paprika.
Place chicken on greased foil-lined pan on center rack of oven. Bake at 375 for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
