Breakfast Recipes: Buttermilk Waffles

Great waffles recipe!

Homemade waffles make getting out of bed early worth the effort! I like all kinds of waffles, and this an easy buttermilk waffle recipe. For the best results, use whole buttermilk. If you use non-fat buttermilk, your waffles will be good, but they won’t be as rich as waffles made with regular buttermilk. Also, you can use melted butter or margarine in place of the shortening, if you wish.

I like to use non-stick cooking spray on the waffle iron to keep the waffles from sticking. I re-spray in between each waffle cooking. Don’t fill the waffle iron too full, either.
