Holle’s Cajun shrimp Burgers recipe

What you’ll need:

  • 1 pound steamed or boiled shrimp
  • ¼ cup finely diced onions
  • ¼ cup finely diced green bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped celery
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons Holle’s Cajun seasoning
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2/3 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 beaten egg
  • flour
  • Olive oil

Directions:  Peel and devein shrimp and remove tails. Chop shrimp in a food processor.

Cook onions, bell pepper, and celery in microwave until soft. Drain well.

Combine chopped shrimp, vegetables, garlic, seasoning, mayo, bread crumbs and egg. Form into patties, dredge in flour, and place on plate or tray. Freeze for about 20 minutes. Remove from freezer and dredge in flour again.

Drizzle non-stick pan with oil and fry shrimp burgers on medium-high heat until brown and crunchy on each side. Serve on buns or French bread.

For the best seafood and fish recipes, use fresh ingredients.

Shrimp burgers are a nice change of pace from traditional homemade hamburgers. My recipe makes crunchy, crusty shrimp burgers that have lots of taste and a spicy kick. Use my Cajun seasoning recipe for Cajun recipes, or use your own spice blend.

For the best seafood and fish recipes, always use the freshest products you can find. For this recipe, for example, buy fresh shrimp and boil or steam them yourself. You can use frozen shrimp, but your recipes won’t taste nearly as yummy.
