Eggs are great for low carb recipes. They’re naturally extremely low in carbs, and they’re high in protein. Egg dishes have a way of keeping you full and satisfied, so you’re not tempted to snack on high-carb foods. This egg salad recipe is a little different than my traditional recipe. Instead of chopped pickles, I use olives, which are also very low in carbohydrates.

Avocados are great in low carb recipes. A one-ounce serving of avocado has three grams of carbs, but two of those grams are fiber, leaving just one net carb gram per serving of avocado. In addition to dietary fiber, avocados also contain healthy fats and small amounts of lots of different vitamins and minerals.

About once a week, we have dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant with our friends Steve and Sandy. Sandy and I are both usually on low carb diets, and we’re always on the lookout for tasty new low carb recipes. At the restaurant, we usually try to order low carb items, and one of our favorites is hongos con queso, or mushrooms with cheese. I figured this item would be pretty simple to make at home, so I gave it a shot. After a couple of tweaks, I wound up with the following low carb recipe that tastes almost exactly like the dish served at the restaurant.

You can make lots of low carb recipes at home, and many don’t require any “fancy” ingredients. For example, you probably have all the ingredients you need to make low carb chocolate syrup right now! I’ve made this syrup several times, and it’s great on sugar-free ice cream. I also like to use it as a dipping sauce for low-carb fruits like strawberries and raspberries.

Yummy low carb recipes for traditional southern food? Wow, it just doesn’t get much better than this! This fried chicken is low carb because the recipe uses soy flour instead of regular flour. I also like to add some crushed pork rinds for more texture. Yes, southern recipes and low carb recipes can be one and the same!

Looking for low carb recipes that are also great southern recipes? This one is for fried pork chops that have a barbecue kick. The BBQ flavor comes from the wet rub applied to the chops. You prepare the pork chops just as you would before grilling them, and you get that great southern food flavor without the carb load. If you’re not on a low carb diet, you can use regular brown sugar and regular flour in this pork chop recipe.

Zucchini is a popular southern food, and you’ll find lots of southern recipes for it. Zucchini is naturally low in carbs, so you can make lots of low carb recipes with it. The following zucchini recipe is easy to make, delicious, and a low carb recipe, to boot. If you like spicy zucchini, just sprinkle on some chili powder, chipotle powder, or ground red pepper.

All the ingredients used in this dish are great for low carb recipes. Of course, folks don’t have to be on low carb diets to enjoy these delicious green beans. They have a wonderful taste and texture. I really like the slightly sweet flavor provided by the red bell peppers, and you probably will, too!.

Stewed squash is a southern food that can be very healthy – or not. It depends on which fat or oil you use for the “stewing” process. The traditional southern way is to use bacon drippings, but for a healthier version, you can use olive oil or canola oil.

I love crab cakes and just about all crab recipes! Crab meat has zero carbs. The problem is that a lot of crab recipes include flour, bread crumbs, or other high-carb foods. This usually includes crab cakes. I bought a pound of crab meat the other day, and I used half of it in my crab-stuffed chicken breasts. I decided to make crab cakes with the remaining eight ounces, but I wanted them to be low-carb crab cakes.
