All vegetarian recipes don’t have to be boring. In fact, I have several hearty soup recipes that don’t contain any type of flesh. The one I’m sharing with you today is an easy soup recipe that’s not only hearty and delicious, it’s also healthy and super easy to make. The beefy flavor and texture comes from Meal Starters, a product made by Morning Star. Its texture and flavor are very similar to hamburger meat that’s been browned and then broken up into crumbles.

These cheese pinecones make attractive Thanksgiving appetizers. A cheese pinecone or two would also be appropriate as a party food for a Christmas get-together. They’re simple to make, although they are somewhat time consuming. I always like to insert some fake greenery in the “stem end” to make the pinecones more realistic.
These mini pumpkin tarts are great little Thanksgiving recipes, and if your guests are going to have to wait a while for the main meal, these could even serve as Thanksgiving appetizers. I used a small ramekin, like the ones that usually hold sauce. Of course, you could use any size baking vessel you like.

This is one of the easiest Thanksgiving recipes you’ll ever find. In fact, it might be THE easiest! On top of that, it’s also delicious. It’s so moist that it’s really more like a pie than a cake. This ice box cake would also be great for Halloween, Christmas, or any time you want a quick and easy dessert recipe. I make small cakes, but you can make them as large as you like. In fact, I use only about ½ can of the pumpkin pie filling for the recipe below. Make sure you use “pumpkin pie filling,” not “canned pumpkin.”

You’ll find lots of pecan recipes with southern food. In most of the Deep South, pecan trees can be found just about everywhere. Some even grow wild in the woods. These pecan muffins are a great way to use all the pecans available in the fall months. They’re wonderful at breakfast with a cup of coffee, and they make nice accompaniments to other meals, as well.

These pumpkin muffins could be included with your Halloween recipes or with your Thanksgiving recipes. I think the flavor is better if you use fresh pumpkin that you cook yourself, but canned pumpkin works almost as well. If you process your own pumpkin, be sure to use a small pie pumpkin.

When you’re carving your Halloween pumpkins this year, don’t throw away the seeds! Toasted pumpkin seeds are delicious, and they make great Halloween snacks for Halloween parties. . After scooping the seeds out of the pumpkin, toss them in a large pot of cool water and stir. This will help separate the seeds from the stringy pumpkin pulp. Spread the seeds on several layers of paper towels and allow them to dry for about 24 hours before toasting.

This is a great treat that would be good for Halloween parties. For a yummy dessert, top the warm squares with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. These squares are super chewy and rich. When they come out of the oven, you might think they’ve “fallen,” and you might think they haven’t cooked enough. Don’t worry – they’re supposed to be that way!

This is one of our favorite soups, perfect on a chilly autumn night. The soup is easy to make, and I often make it even quicker and easier by cooking my ground beef ahead of time. I often buy ground beef in large amounts when it’s on sale. On a day when I’m not busy, I’ll cook and crumble the beef and place it in freezer bags, about 1-2 pounds in each bag. Then when I’m ready to make soup, chili, tacos, or burritos, the meat is already done! This is also a good way to use leftover hamburgers.
