Great Halloween treats!
This is a great treat that would be good for Halloween parties. For a yummy dessert, top the warm squares with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. These squares are super chewy and rich. When they come out of the oven, you might think they’ve “fallen,” and you might think they haven’t cooked enough. Don’t worry – they’re supposed to be that way!
Holle’s Chewy Pecan-Cinnamon Squares recipe
What you’ll need:
- 1 stick salted butter
- 1 box light brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 3 beaten eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Baker’s Joy cooking spray
- 24 toasted pecan halves
Directions: Melt butter in a large bowl in the microwave. Add brown sugar and blend.
Stir in pecans, flour, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon.
Spray a 13 x 9 inch metal baking pan with Baker’s Joy. Pour batter into pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Cut into 24 squares immediately, but don’t remove squares from pan yet.
Press a pecan half in the center of each square.
Remove from pan when firm.
