Cory Crow’s Steakhouse Rib Eyes

Steakhouse Steaks

My youngest daughter and son-in-law came over to swim this evening, and Cory treated us to some of his great BBQ cooking. He can grill up some wonderful homemade hamburgers, and the steaks he did tonight on the barbecue were perfect. He calls them his “steakhouse steaks,” but since we were having rib eyes, I called them “steakhouse rib eyes.” Here it is!

Cory’s Steakhouse Rib Eyes recipe

What you’ll need:

  • 4 rib eye steaks, one-inch thick
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dale’s liquid seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 2 teaspoons Liquid Smoke
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric

Directions: Place steaks in shallow dish. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over steaks. Marinate in the fridge for one hour. Remove steaks from refrigerator and leave in marinade for 15-20 minutes at room temperature.

Remove most – but not all – the marinade from the steaks and grill over medium coals until desired doneness.
