This is a great venison recipe that you can put together the night before and turn on the crock pot the next morning before you go to work. When you return home, you’ll have a complete meal that’s ready to eat – a deer roast plus savory veggies and potatoes.
Holle’s Beer-Deer Venison Roast
What you’ll need:
- 2 large baking potatoes
- Garlic salt
- Venison roast, 3 or 4 pounds
- 4 slices thick bacon
- 2 envelopes Lipton Onion Soup Mix
- 1 large sweet yellow onion
- 1 small package fresh baby carrots
- 1 package frozen Brussels sprouts
- 1 can beer
Slice potatoes thinly and arrange on the bottom of a large crock pot. Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.
Place venison roast on top of potatoes. Arrange bacon on top of deer meat. Sprinkle with soup mix.
Thinly slice onions and place on top of roast and bacon.
Arrange carrots around roast, on one side.
Arrange Brussels sprouts on the other end of the roast.
Pour in one can of beer.
Place lid on crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours or until meat is done and veggies are tender.
