Garlic Roasted Quail
Of all wild game and game birds, Bobwhite quail is my absolute favorite! These plump little birds have breasts of white, mild-tasting flesh, and they can be cooked using a variety of quail recipes. The following is an easy quail recipe that’s practically impossible to “mess up.”
Holle’s Garlic Roasted Quail recipe
What you’ll need:
- 6 whole quail, dressed
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Directions: Rinse quail well and remove any birdshot with tweezers.
In a container with a lid, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, and garlic.
Marinate quail for several hours or overnight.
Remove birds from marinade and rub all over with olive oil. Salt and pepper birds.
Bake quail at 325 degrees for about one hour, basting occasionally.
