Homemade Pizza Recipe

Making pizza is one of America’s greatest past times. This homemade pizza recipe is perfect for filling up your family, and is easy enough that anyone can make it.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cups Of Warm Water
  • 2 Cups Bread Flour
  • 1 Tsp Instant Rising Yeast
  • 2 Tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Pure Olive Oil
  • Spare Olive Oil
  • Spare Flour
  • 1 1/2 Ounce Pizza Sauce
  • 1/2 Tsp Chopped Thyme
  • 1/2 Tsp Chopped Oregano
  • 1/2 Tsp Chopped Red Pepper Flakes
  • Grated Mozzarella Cheese
  • Grated Monterey Jack Cheese
  • Grated Provolone Cheese

Step 1: Mix together your salt, sugar, olive oil, yeast, and 2 cups of flour into a mixing bowl. Mix it on low speed, or hand mix until the dough mixes together into a firm ball. After the bread has formed into a ball, begin kneading the dough for 15 minutes, either with your hands, or a mixer on medium speed.

Step 2: Tear off a piece of the dough and begin to flatten it into a disc shape and stretch it until it is thin enough for your taste. If the dough begins to tear while you are working with it, begin to knead it again for 5 or 10 more minutes until it has formed a skin on the outside of it.

Step 3: Now you need to roll the dough into a ball on your countertop with flour laid down to prevent it from sticking to the counter. Add 2 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil to a bowl and toss the ball in to it, making a coat of olive oil on the dough. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and set it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Step 4: Split the pizza dough ball into two equal sized pieces and set to the side. Place your pizza stone onto the bottom rack of the oven and heat it to the highest temperature possible. Flatten the dough into disks and then form back into a ball shape. Moisten the countertop where you are working and roll the dough on the surface until it begins to tighten up. Cover it with a wet towel and allow it to set for around 30 minutes to keep it from drying out too much.

Step 5: Rub olive oil around the outside ring of the pizza to ensure a crispy, yet moist crust. Spread the pizza sauce onto the dough, starting from the center and working your way towards the outside crust. Now you can sprinkle the chopped herbs and cheeses onto the top of the pizza sauce and slide the pizza into the oven for 7 minutes. Step 6: When the pizza has cooked you will want to pull it out and allow it to set for up to 5 minutes to cool. Slice the pizza, and serve it to your guests.
