Grilled pork chops photo by Christopher Aloi
You’ll likely be doing some BBQ cooking for the upcoming summer holidays: Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day. This recipe cooks fairly quickly on the grill, so if you’re smoking some larger pieces of meat that won’t be ready to eat for a while, these pork chops can tide your guests over until the other meat is ready. Of course, these grilled pork chops could also serve as the main dish.
Holle’s Honey Grilled Pork Chops recipe
What you’ll need:
- 8 boneless pork chops, about ½-inch thick
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- ½ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
Directions: Rinse chops and pat dry. Rub meat with black pepper, salt, and brown sugar. Wrap tightly and place in fridge for at least one hour.
Combine honey, lime juice, oil, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Heat in microwave until well blended.
Cook pork chops on medium coals for 5 minutes per side. Brush with sauce and continue grilling until chops are done. You’ll need to brush the pork chops several times with the honey mixture.
