Low Carb Recipes: Low Carb Oven Barbecued Chicken

Enjoy this low carb recipe!

Bbq chicken is one of my favorite foods! If you’re a regular reader, you know I enjoy creating low carb recipes, along with eating low carb recipes. Today I’m making low carb barbecued chicken, slathered in my low carb sweet and spicy barbecue sauce. I’m cooking this barbecued chicken in the oven, but you could use it for grilling, too. Also, I’m using fairly large breasts with the skin and bones intact. You can use boneless, skinless breasts if you prefer, but I must admit I like the crunchy skin laden with the sweet sauce!

Holle’s Low Carb Oven-Barbecued Chicken Breasts recipe

What you’ll need:

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • Cooking spray
  • Garlic salt
  • Onion powder
  • Black pepper
  • Paprika
  • Holle’s Low Carb Sweet and Spicy BBQ Sauce (one batch)

Directions: Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry. Place on a foil-lined baking sheet. Spray breasts with cooking spray and sprinkle with garlic salt, onion powder, black pepper, and paprika.

Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Remove breasts from oven and dip in homemade barbecue sauce. Return to oven and bake for 30 more minutes, more or less, until breasts are cooked through. Cooking time depends on how thick the breasts are.

Turn oven heat to broil and cook until chicken is nicely browned. Actually, I like mine a little burnt!
