Low Carb Recipes: Wet Rub Baby Back Ribs

Baby back ribs recipe

Another of my low carb recipes, this is a great way to enjoy the goodness of baby back ribs without all the sugar contained in most BBQ baby back ribs recipes. You’ll still get a sweet taste, thanks to the sugar-free soft drink and the Splenda included in the wet rub. As for the soft drink, I’ve used several different varieties, including fruit punch, lemonade, peach lemonade, and cherry limeade. You could even use a diet cola, if you wish.

Holle’s Wet Rub Baby Back Ribs Recipe

What you’ll need:

  • 1 slab baby back ribs
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons sugar-free drink
  • 1 scant teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Splenda
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil

Directions: Rinse and thoroughly dry baby back ribs.

Combine remaining ingredients and rub into ribs – on both sides.

Wrap ribs lightly in cling wrap and leave in the fridge for three hours.

The baby back ribs are now ready to go on the grill, on the smoker, or in the oven.
