low carb recipes: chocolate syrup
You can make lots of low carb recipes at home, and many don’t require any “fancy” ingredients. For example, you probably have all the ingredients you need to make low carb chocolate syrup right now! I’ve made this syrup several times, and it’s great on sugar-free ice cream. I also like to use it as a dipping sauce for low-carb fruits like strawberries and raspberries.
Holle’s Low Carb Chocolate Syrup recipe
What you’ll need:
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup Splenda
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ cup boiling water
- 2 teaspoons melted butter
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
Directions: Add cocoa powder, Splenda, and cinnamon to a small pot and slowly stir in boiling water. Turn burner to medium and bring mixture to a boil, while stirring. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for about 9 or 10 minutes longer. Add melted butter and vanilla.
Once the syrup cools, pour it into a plastic bottle with a lid and keep it in the fridge.
