New England Recipes: Hot Apple Cider

New England recipes are full of apple creations – for a good reason. Some of the tastiest apples in the world come from the New England states. These apples are turned into lots of delicious foods and drinks, one of which is hot apple cider. Not only does this hot beverage taste great – it also smells great! And sipping a mug of hot apple cider on a cold autumn or winter night is a great way to warm up.

I always make a huge batch of hot apple cider for our family party every Christmas Eve. If you want to serve this at a party, you can make it more attractive by floating some orange and lemon slices on top. Another party idea is to stud some small oranges with whole cloves and float them atop the hot apple cider.
