Meatballs is a yummy party food idea!
This is an easy party food recipe that you make ahead and forget about! it’s delicious, too, and it will give you more time to spend with your guests. you can keep these warm in a crock pot, or if it’s a more formal affair, you can heat them in a chafing dish. If you go the chafing dish route, you’ll need to warm the meatballs and peppers first, before placing in the chafing dish.
This party food idea will be a big hit with your guests! In fact, we rarely have any meatballs left over – no matter how many I make. If you do have leftovers, use them with spaghetti or in meatball sandwiches.
Holle’s Easy Sweet and Sour Meatballs recipe
What you’ll need:
- 1 large package frozen meatballs
- 1 tall can pineapple tidbits (not crushed pineapple)
- 1 large jar sweet and sour sauce
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 yellow bell pepper
- 1 green bell pepper
Directions: Thaw meatballs and place in crock pot.
Drain pineapple, reserving juice. Pour 1/4 cup juice over meatballs.
Add sweet and sour sauce.
Cut bell peppers into small strips or squares and add to crock pot.
Place lid on pot and cook on high for about an hour. Add pineapple tidbits.
Reduce heat to low. Stir. If sauce gets too thick, add more pineapple juice.
When ingredients are hot and peppers are soft, your meatballs are ready to eat.
Serve with party toothpicks.
