Coleslaw is practically required for cookouts, picnics, and barbecues. So if you’re having one of these events in celebration of Memorial Day, July 4, or Labor Day, you might be interested in this coleslaw recipe. The bright purplish-red color makes it an attractive dish.
Holle’s Red Slaw
What you’ll need:
- 1 medium-sized head red cabbage
- ¼ cup finely diced sweet onion
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 3 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Directions: Shred cabbage and place in large bowl. Add onion.
Combine remaining ingredients to make the dressing, adding milk, if needed. Pour over cabbage and onions and toss.
Cover and chill in the fridge. Just before serving, toss again.
