Here’s yet another recipe for homemade hamburgers. For these homemade hamburgers, I used two types of peppers – sweet peppers and hot peppers. For the sweet peppers, I used bell peppers, and for the hot peppers, I used jalapenos. For the onions, I used Vidalia onions. Use your favorites!
Holle’s Sweet-Hot Pepper Hamburger recipe
What you’ll need:
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 2 tablespoons minced jalapeno peppers
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 large bell pepper, cut into strips
- 1 medium onion, cut into strips
- Shredded Colby-jack cheese
- 4 large tomato slices
Directions: Combine ground beef, jalapenos, garlic powder, sugar, black pepper, and salt. Form into four hamburger patties.
Fry hamburgers in a large skillet over medium heat. Add a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce on each patty before flipping. Remove cooked burgers from pan.
Sauté pepper and onion in hamburger grease until almost tender. Place hamburgers on top of vegetables and reduce heat. Top each burger with cheese. Place lid on pan and simmer for five minutes, or until cheese melts.
Serve on buns with peppers, onions, and tomato slice.
