This BBQ cooking recipe makes a wonderful meal when served with rice and a green salad, and it can also work as a party food. If I buy thick chicken breasts, I usually pound them a bit first to flatten them out some. This serves several purposes. For one thing, it tenderizes the meat. For another, thinner sections of poultry will degrease cooking time, and since all the meat will be the same thickness, they’ll all get done at the same time. Finally, you’ll get more surface area, which means more room for seasonings and sauce.

This is actually a shortcut to homemade dip. The chili has already been prepared for you! This is a warm, hearty party food that’s great served with corn chips, crackers, or tortilla chips. You’ll need to make this party dip in a nine-inch pie plate.

Dips make great party foods because a little goes a long way. Most dip recipes are also quick and easy to make, like this one. Try party ideas like having several different dips for your guests, along with a variety of dippers: tortilla chips, potato chips, bagel chips, pretzels, and an assortment of raw veggies.

I’ve come up with lots of party ideas and party foods because I used to entertain regularly. These pinwheels are easy to make, and they’re very tasty. They’re also attractive finger foods. This is a good Christmas party idea because of the green and red colors in the pinwheels.

This is a wonderful blue crab party food that could easily serve as an appetizer for a seafood dinner. The neat thing about blue crab claws is that they have their own “handle.” If you’ve never eaten crab claws, you just grab the pincher and munch on the bite-size portion of succulent crab meat that’s exposed. After cooking, the fried crab claws can be served with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, or both.

This is another easy party food that we serve often. It’s one of my daughter’s favorite party foods, and she makes it often just for her husband and kids. It’s so easy to make that you don’t need a special occasion! To make it fancier, however, you can roll the resulting ball in fresh parsley, chopped nuts, or paprika.

This party food is super easy to make, but it’s really delicious, and it makes a beautiful presentation when stacked in a circle on a round tray. If you don’t want to go to the expense of deli ham, you can substitute sliced packaged sandwich ham. Virginia cured brown sugar or honey ham works well here. Just make sure it’s sliced thin.
