As southern food aficionados, my family likes just about anything barbecued. And by barbecued, I mean either cooked on the grill or smoker, or cooked indoors with BBQ sauce. This recipe is for delicious barbecued beef. It’s easy to make because it’s cooked in a crock pot, so you set it and forget it. We often shred the beef just like we would with pulled pork, and use it for sandwiches.
Holle’s Easy BBQ Beef Sandwiches recipe
What you’ll need:
- 2 pounds all meat stew
- 1 tablespoon oil (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
- 1 teaspoon cayenne
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 medium onion, diced
- ½ – 1 cup bottled BBQ sauce
- Buns or rolls
Directions: Rinse stew beef and pat dry. Place in crock pot. If beef is very lean, add olive oil. Combine beef with oil, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, Liquid Smoke, cayenne, cumin, and salt and pepper. With your hands, massage the seasonings into the meat.
Add diced onion and pour BBQ sauce over ingredients. The amount of sauce you use is a matter of taste.
Cover crock pot and cook on low for about eight hours. Stir ingredients. Shred beef with two forks and serve on buns or rolls.
